Introduction

Il progetto mira a migliorare le competenze e le metodologie dei docenti e formatori coinvolti nell'educazione STE²AM, cercando di allineare i rispettivi programmi didattici con il processo di Bologna.

Summary

The objective of this project is to enhance the skills and competencies of educators involved in STE²AM education, aligning educational curricula with the principles of the Bologna Process.

Description

In the past, entrepreneurship was often seen as an inborn talent; however, the prevailing notion today is that entrepreneurship can be taught, surpassing this belief (Kuratko, 2005). Consequently, there has been a surge in the popularization of entrepreneurship education in recent years, initially beginning in universities and gradually extending to non-university institutions. Programs designed for entrepreneurship education have combined both theoretical and practical training. To effectively impart entrepreneurship skills through education, suitable technical and educational methodologies need to be identified for teachers and students (Curth, 2011; European Commission, 2011). These methodologies encompass project-based learning, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), learning diaries, experiential learning, and peer learning (Seikkula-Leino, 2007).

Entrepreneurship education empowers teachers and students to devise solutions for real-life challenges. Evaluating from this perspective, the STE²AM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Arts, Mathematics) approach holds significant relevance in entrepreneurship education (Blenker, Dreisler, & Kjeldsen, 2006). However, the number of mentors proficient in STEM is insufficient, and there remains a scarcity of work focusing on STE²AM [where 'E' stands for entrepreneurship] in higher education.

This project aims to enhance the skills and competencies of teachers involved in STE²AM education to align educational curricula with the Bologna Process. The primary target audience comprises teachers specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The direct beneficiaries of the project's outcomes and intellectual contributions will be teachers, trainers, researchers, and educators, while students will benefit indirectly. The central objective of the project is to facilitate the development and implementation of tailored STE²AM higher education curricula in partner universities and schools subsequent to STE²AM training. Additionally, the project aims to foster the engagement of women in STEAM education and create guidance and mentorship opportunities

Objectives

The project aims to establish a model for entrepreneurship-focused STEAM education, equipped with standardized guidelines applicable for teachers. This developed model will serve as a roadmap for seamlessly integrating entrepreneurship into STEM education during teacher training. Consequently, it will provide directives for crafting practical, hands-on STEAM activities aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial skills in both teachers and students. This addresses a recognized gap in the current literature

UNINETTUNO Role

As part of Work Package No. 2 ('Transnational project meetings - Teacher Training and STE²AM Implementations in Classrooms'), UNINETTUNO will oversee the coordination of a transnational project meeting in Rome and conduct training sessions tailored for teachers, professors, and professionals engaged in STE²AM.
