Validation of Formal, Non Formal and Informal Learning for Administration Personnel through Asynchronous Electronic Learning and Online Assessment

Global programme: Erasmus +
Specific programme: KA220-VET-Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training
Project number: KA220-VET-899115F0
Duration: 31 Months (2/1/2022 - 8/31/2024)
Project Manager: MMC
UNINETTUNO Scientific Leader: Ileana Di Pomponio
UNINETTUNO Project Manager: Luigi Giorgi

Introduction

The goal of e-EUPA is to provide an alternative method for learning and certifying administrative personnel across four different EQF levels. e-EUPA aims to deliver state-of-the-art asynchronous e-Learning to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies identified within the qualifications framework established in the previous project. Additionally, e-EUPA targets the conversion of assessments from the previous project into online evaluations, offering professionals, students, and disadvantaged groups the flexibility to participate in training courses and subsequent assessments. Alternatively, they can solely undergo assessment to validate their knowledge and skills, irrespective of their acquisition method, to achieve the qualification. Furthermore, at a policy level, as the education and learning industry embraces digitalization, e-EUPA aims to develop guidelines based on key success factors for converting training materials into asynchronous e-Learning

Summary

The e-EUPA project offers online training and certification for administrative personnel, converting assessments and training materials into advanced digital formats, incorporating an ISO-certified four-level assessment system, along with instructor-led video-recorded lessons.

Description

The project represents the continuation of two highly successful previous initiatives, named 'EUPA' and 'EUPA_NEXT.' These initiatives have developed: a) Qualification frameworks for administrative personnel, structured into four EQF levels; b) Training programs and materials (ISO Certificates) for the four EQF levels of administrative personnel. Note that training materials included PowerPoint presentations and methodological tools such as exercises, role plays, experiential labs, and case studies; c) Unit-level assessment tools certified under ISO 17024.

The goal of this new phase of the initiative is to provide an alternative method for learning and certification for administrative personnel. Specifically, e-EUPA aims to offer and certify advanced asynchronous e-Learning courses for the development of knowledge, skills, and competencies identified within the qualification framework of the previous projects. This initiative aims to enable professionals in the field, interested students, and disadvantaged groups to attend training courses and obtain certification.

Objectives

The aim of e-EUPA is to provide an alternative method for learning and certifying administrative personnel across four different EQF levels. The project aims to deliver cutting-edge asynchronous e-Learning services for developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies identified within the qualifications framework established in the previous project. Additionally, e-EUPA aims to convert assessments from the previous project into online evaluations. This will allow active professionals in the sector, as well as students and disadvantaged groups, the flexibility to engage in training courses and subsequently undergo evaluations. Alternatively, they can opt to solely undergo evaluation to certify their knowledge and skills (regardless of how they were acquired) to attain the desired qualification. Furthermore, on a policy level, as the education and learning industry is moving towards digitalization, e-EUPA intends to develop guidelines based on key success factors for converting educational materials into asynchronous e-Learning.

The specific objectives of e-EUPA are:

  1. Develop a methodology based on key success factors for converting traditional classroom educational materials into asynchronous e-Learning
  2. Employ this methodology to convert all methodological elements and tools from previous projects (or replace non-convertible ones) into asynchronous e-Learning. The new tools will be re-certified with ISO
  3. Create cutting-edge lessons that go beyond simple PowerPoint presentations in PDFs, incorporating live sessions with video recordings of instructors
  4. Develop a unified platform for students seeking training across different EUPA levels
  5. Craft ISO 17024-certified online assessments across four different levels for students aiming to obtain EUPA certification. Each unit will undergo assessment, leading to certification upon completion of all unit-level assessments for a specific level
  6. Train instructors in the use of asynchronous e-Learning methodologies
  7. Raise awareness among instructors about the importance of digitalization in education
  8. Support IFP providers in their internationalization efforts, recognizing that asynchronous e-Learning presents significant opportunities for international professional training. Additionally, online assessments offer prospects for international qualifications. Asynchronous learning becomes even more attractive for internationalization since time zone differences do not affect training
  9. Offer e-EUPA in the most commonly used European languages to ensure a significant impact of our results

UNINETTUNO Role

The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO leads Project Result 1, dedicated to developing the Methodological Framework for converting training materials into asynchronous e-learning. This initiative involves crafting guidelines to aid partners in transforming materials initially designed for traditional classroom learning into asynchronous electronic learning.

Outlined below are the tasks of PR1:

  1. Introduction to asynchronous learning
  2. Various types of methodological tools applicable in asynchronous learning (accompanied by examples)
  3. Exploring challenging methodological tools for asynchronous learning (supported by examples)
  4. Providing examples demonstrating the transformation of these methodological tools, using a step-by-step approach to ensure the attainment of learning outcomes through a different method
  5. Creating a comprehensive set of guidelines for a successful transition to asynchronous learning, highlighting essential factors for achievement
