Objectives
The objective of Hermes-Giotto project is to implement a number of pilot activities both in telemedicine and teleducation, using services of satellite communication, mainly the Internet through satellite, and specialised hardware and software platforms.
The project aims to demonstrate the system validity in order to promote the concept of tele-education/medicine through satellite in several environments due to the use of DVB standards.
For this purpose the pilot activities were exploited to achieve a fully operational product, that is ready to be marketed.
