For the first time, students coming from the Universities of the following countries of the Arab World: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria and Turkey, specialise in issues related to the Euro-Mediterranean Policies. These students, without leaving their own universities, thanks to the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO distance teaching model and to its didactic portal www.uninettunouniversity.net, the only one in the world where teaching and learning are carried on in 4 languages: Italian, Arabic, English and French, brilliantly completed their studies on the history of the European Institutions, on constitutional issues, citizenship and migration, on issues linked to security, justice and freedom in a European and Euro-Mediterranean perspective.

The course contents were realised by lecturers of international renown and by the protagonists of the European Union including Romano Prodi, Mario Monti, Franco Frattini, Rocco Cangelosi, Mohammed Al Momany of Yarmouk University, Jordan, Henry LaBayle of Sciences Po, Paris, Rostane Mehdi and Sandro Gozi of the College of Europe, Bruges and many others.

In the 16th December ceremony, for the first time, these students will obtain a study title acknowledged in Italy and in Europe, having developed competences on contents related to the Euro-Mediterranean policies and cultures, on questions linked to issues such as justice, security, economic relations, social policies. The students established a critical dialogue with their teachers and tutors through meetings on the virtual classrooms of the Internet-based portal and on Second Life, on the UTIU Island of Knowledge; they continuously interacted by audio and videos chats; they carried out exercises and prepared very interesting papers.

The Master’s Course united, in a common training and interactive path, students who graduated in the universities of countries like Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria and Turkey and professors who worked with great enthusiasm and engagement to jointly develop the true capital on which the progress of mankind is based: the education of the younger generations.“A true network of shared knowledge is born - the UTIU Rector, Prof. Maria Amata Garito, explains - of continuous interactions within an international community of students and professors who are willing to understand cultural diversities and to develop new ways of cooperation, also thanks to the new technologies used by the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO and to its e-learning model; with this Master we gave these young people the possibility to better learn about their past in order to live the present with greater awareness and look together at the future of Europe and of the Mediterranean Region”.
