Reporting on Climate Change
an online training program for international journalists

Funded by the EIB – European Investment Bank, and realized in partnership with   COPEAM (Conference Permanente del l’audiovisuelle de la mediterranee) the online training program aims to train with new skills international Journalists from the Mediterranean area on how to report on climate change issues through local media.

The training will be delivered on the didactic e-learning platform, will adopt the psycho pedagogical model of the Universitá Telematicà Internazionale UNINETTUNO and will be available in 2 languages, English and Arabic. Will be targeted to professional journalists selected through the COPEAM network of Public Broadcaster for the MENA Region. Thanks to the financial support of EIB, the first edition of the program will be offered for free to a selected target of professional journalists through a public call .

The program will be composed of 15 video-lessons, exercises, sseveral case studies and supporting training material delivered by two appointed main trainers and international experts in the field:
From Cairo Egypt Ahmed Kandil, Head of the Energy Studies Program at al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo and From England, UK Kevin Burden, former BBC correspondent and international expert in scientific journalism. Several contributions “from the field” will also give the floor to academics, experts and senior professionals working in the domain of scientific communication, among which experts from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (Oxford University) and from the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).

The program will strength the engagement of UNINETTUNO for the creation of online programs based on strong social impact in line with the current needs and social emergencies of our society. Thanks to the support of EBI and COPEAM, the program represents a strong concrete action for reaching the goals of the democratization of access to knowledge through new technologies, a goal pursued by UNINETTUNO since its birth.

The online program REPORTING ON VCLIMATE CHANGE is inspired by the millennium goals of UN, in particular Goal 4,13,14,15 (link https://sdgs.un.org/goals).
